Whilst in Potsdam we recommend to use Potsdam public transportation
for travelling. You may choose to either take buses, trams, or trains to reach your destinations within
Potsdam.
There are also regular suburban and regional (express) trains connecting Potsdam and Berlin.
The following two plans of Potsdam public transport are available: The ticket fare for a single ride within Potsdam is 2,50 DM; 3,90 DM for rides beyond the city limits. Please have a look at the plans above for the limits of the zones A/B/C. We suggest to buy a 7-day-ticket (»7-Tage-Karte Standard Potsdam«) valid for all rides on Potsdam public transportation. The price is 18 DM (zones AB or BC), or 28 DM (zones ABC), respectively (see also the plans). Notice that tickets valid for Potsdam public transportation in general will not include rides in Berlin! If you intend to travel regularly within Potsdam and Berlin you may choose to buy a 7-day-ticket valid for all rides in both cities and the whole region that costs 52 DM (»7-Tage-Karte Standard Berlin ABC«). The price for the corresponding 1-day-ticket is 9,90 DM, while a single ride (one-way) is 4,50 DM. More information about public transportation in Berlin (and surroundings) is to be found here:
